In May 2024, House of Sutai debuted their first collection “Disco Days/Debut” at SWAIA’s inaugural Native Fashion Week. The collection drew inspiration from Bread’s Great Great Aunt Josephine Myers Wapp’s weaving textiles, Comanche Culture and the hardships Native peoples faced in the political turbulence of the 70’s.
With this collection, Bread wanted to celebrate Native joy by uplifting LGBTQ+/Queers in the community with Disco culture and was covered by news outlets such as PBS, ELLE Magazine and The New York Times

“ I wanted to give that visual cue of Indigenous joy in my collection while celebrating relatives of all sizes, genders, and skin tones.”
